All year 4 students sit a musical aptitude test. Offers are then made for participation in a musical program while in year 5 and 6. Students can hire an instrument for a small fee before purchasing one if they choose to continue their musical journey. Once in the program they are tutored by Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) staff. Numbers are restricted and only a small number of places are available, Clarinet, Flute, Brass (trumpet and trombone) are offered to those students who meet the criteria. Lessons are taught weekly at the school and students can continue their music path at Bunbury Senior High School.
